
Springfield, Illinois – A Springfield man has been charged after breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house and taking pictures of her while she was sleeping partially nude. The suspect then sent the pictures to another woman.
Richard Jachino, age 58, was arrested for a warrant by Springfield Police on December 10, 2019. The warrant stemmed from an encounter that occurred in Chatham, Illinois. A Chatham woman reported to police that she met Richard in Springfield sometime in March 2019. But in April 2019, she decided to break off the relationship with Richard.
During the course of the separation in the relationship, the victim told police that Richard went to Lowes and bought a garage door opener and programmed it to work for her garage, without her permission. She asked Richard to hand over the garage remote door opener, but he refused. The victim then contacted the Chatham Police Department to report the incident. When Richard was contacted by Chatham Police to hand over the garage door remote, Richard refused. Richard told police that the garage door remote opener was his property and that he was going to program it to his garage.
On May 9, 2019, Richard is accused of entering the victim’s home without her permission. The victim reported that she was upstairs sleeping and did not hear Richard open her bedroom door. While Richard was in the victim’s bedroom, he took pictures of her while she was sleeping and partially nude.
Sometime later, after the photo’s were taken, Richard then sent the pictures to another woman. It was reported that Richard sent the pictures to the other woman, in an attempt to make the other woman jealous .
The victim reported that she didn’t know about the pictures being sent to the other woman until the other woman, who lives in O’Fallon MO., contacted her and told her.
The victim also reported that Richard stole her 2 carat diamond ring. When she asked Richard about it, he told her he took it because she owed him money. The victim reported that she paid Richard with a $870 check, and told police that she owed him nothing. The victim also reported the she never received her ring back.
Richard has been charged with criminal trespass to residence, a class 4 felony and non-consensual dissemination of a sexual image, a class 4 felony. Richard was released from the Sangamon County Jail after posting 10 percent ($2,500) of his $25,000 bond.
Richard is expected to appear back in Sangamon County Court on January 9, 2020.
