Springfield, Illinois – In response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) concerns, Simon Property Group, which owns White Oaks Mall, says that all of their malls will be closing at 7:00 p.m. today. They are expected to re-open their malls on March 29, 2020.
David Simon, CEO of Simon Property Group, announced that after extensive discussions with federal, state and local officials and in recognition of the need to address the spread of COVID-19, all of its retail properties, including Malls, Premium Outlets and Mills in the U.S. will close.
“The health and safety of our shoppers, retailers and employees is of paramount importance and we are taking this step to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our communities,” said Simon.
