Springfield, Illinois – Today, an employee with the City of Springfield Public Works Street Department was sent home after not feeling well.
According to Jim Kuizin, the Human Resources Director for the City of Springfield, he said, “an employee was sent home today after complaining about not feeling well. This employee has their own workspace and is not within several feet of other employees. After leaving, the workspace was cleaned.”
This inquiry was made to the City after a source informed us of the employee leaving. “The employee left with symptoms of the coronavirus,” the source said.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Kuzin said, “Public Works and all City Departments have changed routines and schedules so that employees will have 6′ of social space.”
With the spread of COVID-19, the Sangamon County Public Health Department announced as of 3:00 p.m., today, there are 4 confirmed and 7 negative COVID-19 test results.
Currently, 30 patients are under investigation for COVID-19.
