
Springfield, Illinois – On August 26, 2020 the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office Investigation’s Division arrested Allan M. Burris, age 19, after a warrant was issued. Allan was wanted for Criminal Sexual Assault, Criminal Sexual Abuse and Unlawful Restraint.
An investigation was initiated when Sheriff’s Deputies were sent on August 3, 2020 to a burglar alarm in the 4100 block of Sandhill Road. When deputies arrived to the burglar alarm, they located Allan and a 14 year old female. Allan had broken out a window at the building. The minor victim later confided to a family member that Allan had assaulted her prior to the Deputies arriving. The victim was later interviewed by the Sangamon County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) and disclosed the sexual assault.
Working in conjunction with CAC and the Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Detectives obtained a $300,000 warrant.
Allan was arrested at his residence and booked into the Sangamon County Jail where he is still in custody.
