Springfield, Illinois – Today, January 25, 2021 around 8:50 p.m., Springfield Police responded to a shots fired call between two vehicles in the area of 513 W. Ash St.
Witnesses stated that two dark colored vehicles were shooting at each other as they were driving westbound on Ash St. Witnesses also advised they heard approximately 10 gunshots.
Immediately after the first shots fired calls, another witness called in and stated that they heard a bunch of shooting and witnessed a car crash into a power line in the 1200 block of W. Ash St.
Initial reports indicated that a black Ford Focus might have been involved in the shots fired call and was observed by witnesses leaving the scene of the shooting. A K9 dog was also called to the scene to track an individual who may have also fled from a vehicle that was involved the shooting.
Per a Springfield Leaks source, both victims in this shooting are 22 year old males and their condition is currently listed as critical.
A gun was also recovered from the scene.
