Springfield, Illinois – Today, December 11, 2019, Springfield Police responded to 110 W. Lakeshore for a shooting.
The victim then went to Jamal’s grocery, located at 1200 E. Ash St., and police responded to the area. It was determined that the 36 year old male victim was shot in the hip.
According to initial reports, a 2014 White Nissan Juke, that was stolen Sunday, December 8, was involved in the shooting. Police believe there were 3 black males inside the vehicle.
The victim’s injuries are considered non-life threatening and he was taken to St. John’s Hospital.
According to the owner of the stolen 2014 White Nissan Juke, it was stolen in Jerome right off of Wabash. The car has 2 paw print magnets on the back.
The License Plate number is R63 5532. At this time, it does not appear anyone was immediately taken into custody.
