Springfield, Illinois – On Tuesday, August 4th, 2020, the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit (TRU) and DIRT team executed a search warrant at 505 S. Livingston St. The warrant was obtained after DIRT and Springfield Police’s Proactive Crime Unit (PAC) made multiple controlled buys of heroin from Elmer B. Perkins Jr., age 49.
Seized during the drug raid was a 9mm pistol, which had been reported stolen, ammunition, 4 grams of heroin, 27 grams of suspected methamphetamine and digital scales.
Elmer was booked into the Sangamon County Jail and is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of Methamphetamine and had a Sangamon County traffic warrant.
According to Sangamon County Records, Elmer is also currently on probation for Manufacture and or Delivery of a Controlled Substance and has extensive criminal history.
