Breaking News: Suspect in two Springfield Bank Robberies has been detained and is being questioned

Suspect in the Regions Bank and United Community Bank Robbery

Springfield, Illinois – A Law Enforcement Source, close to Springfield Leaks, has confirmed that the suspect in the Regions Bank and United Community Bank Robbery has been detained and is currently being questioned.




The female suspect, who was described as black woman and dressed in all black clothing, walked into Regions Bank, located at 111 S. Durkin Dr., on Thursday, November 21, 2019 around 4:55 p.m. The suspect then handed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller gave the suspect the money and the suspect left the area on foot.




Less than a week, a second bank robbery occurred yesterday, November 26, 2019. United Community Bank, located at 617 Bruns Lane was robbed. The suspect, once again, was described as a black woman and wearing all black clothing. The suspect presented the teller, at this bank, a note demanding money. The suspect left the bank in a four door vehicle and went westbound on Jefferson St.

At this time, the suspect is being questioned by Springfield Police Detectives. Detectives do believe that the woman currently being questioned is the suspect in both bank robberies.
