Springfield, Illinois – Around 7:15 p.m., Springfield Police were called to Walmart, located at 2760 N. Dirksen, after a male was hit in the head with a baseball bat.
Prior to officers arriving, Walmart security advised that they had the suspect and the victim. The victim, who was struck in the head with the baseball bat, left the store prior to officers arriving. Witnesses at the Dirksen Walmart reported seeing blood on the floor going from the main isle to self check-out.
The second individual, who was still in the scene, was reported as not having any visible injuries on them. It is unknown at this time if the second individual was arrested.
It is unknown, at this time, what the dispute may have been about.
