Springfield, Illinois – Springfield School District 186 released a statement tonight confirming that Superintendent Jennifer Gill has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a press release from Springfield School District 186, Gill and her family decided to get tested after having mild coughs.
Gill had last worked on Tuesday at the districts administrative office, located at 1900 W Monroe St. It was also reported that she had worked from home on Wednesday after she started showing symptoms.
According to the District 186’s statement, Gill had been avoiding large crowds, social distancing and wearing a mask.
The Administrative Office will be closed to the public on Thursday and Friday for deep cleaning and employees, along with Gill, will be working remotely.
